Armenian Plateau vs. 'Eastern Anatolia'

Political strategists and political archaeologists have continued to use the term 'Eastern Anatolia' as a means to distort the historical reality of the Armenian Highlands and the Armenian plateau. Sultan Abdulhamid II forbade the mention of Armenia in books and published newspapers as a means to remove the Armenian ethnos and civilization from the area that has historically been known as Armenia. The term Armenian plateau is not interchangeable with Eastern Anatolia, as the latter term is a geopolitical one rather than a geographic term.
