Maynard Owen Williams was a journalist who travelled extensively throughout the world and wrote for National Geographic and Travel Magazine. He wrote an inspiring article on the noble Armenians of Van in the Armenian Highlands after the Armenian Genocide. His photodocumentation of the atrocities of the Turkish massacres of the Armenians helped preserve the memory of the countless victims of the Republic of Turkey's black chapter in history. 

His journalistic heroism holds an invaluable place in the hearts of Armenians and the Armenian ethnos.
